Dandelion+Burdock candles are made with natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and scented with therapeutic grade Essential Oils to create unique aromatherapeutic scents. Every 8oz candle will burn for 49+ hours.
Why Soy Wax?
Soy wax is a 100% natural wax derived from the vegetable soybeans. Soybeans are one of the major agriculture crops grown mostly in the Midwestern United States.
Most commercial candles are made with paraffin wax, which is cheaper but it is the product of the oil purification process from petroleum, coal, or oil shale. Paraffin wax therefore emits toxic chemicals when melting, contributing to poor air quality in your home.
Why Essential Oils?
Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants, which capture the plant’s scent and flavor, or “essence.” Unique aromatic compounds give each essential oil its characteristic essence. In candles, they add to the sensory experience by enhancing mood and cleansing the air.
Most candles use fragrance oils, which are not natural products and do contain synthetic ingredients. Only essential oils can be used for aromatherapeutic purposes.
Best Candle Burning Practices
Burn candle for at least 2 hours each burn to allow even distribution of wax and to release the scent of the Essential Oils. Keep the wick centered and trimmed to 1/4″. Keep candle free from any foreign matter matches, wick trimmings, etc. and place on a protected, fire resistant surface (using the lid under the candle also does this).
Safety Warning
Be sure to adhere to candle burning instructions as candles can be a fire hazard or cause injury. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not burn candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Avoid drafts and excessive vibrations. Container may become hot while burning candle. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
